Frequently Asked Questions

  • I draw inspiration from the playful figures that history has gifted us—jesters, foxes, and more. They're my muses for exploring the complex tapestry of human experience. I am often asked why Foxes? Why Jesters? These storytellers highlight a superpower I find lacking or discouraged sometimes in today’s world — wit and intellect. I am drawn to the sometimes antihero, Reynard the Fox, who wins using wit over brute force and the jester who uses wit over power.

  • By merging the lighter essence of whimsy with the weight of historical narratives, I craft sculptures and paintings that invite viewers to delve into stories with curiosity versus discomfort.

  • Those dots are whimsical but as always represent deeper and more complex symbolism. In my narrative sculpture the orbs represent the global aspect of these issues and the drawn linear circles represent the timelessness of the ideas. They, like the jesters of old, evoke a sense of playfulness and harmony, while allowing our gaze to sustain engagement with dramatic narratives and yes sometimes emit an ironic laugh at what challenges us.
